KDE 4.0 desktop... can I... back to KDE 3.5.9 ?

Um, I'm not trying to sound like an idiot, but HOW?  Up through F8, I 
could select KDE or Gnome via the session options.  Those don't appear 
to be available anymore.  It's username/password and that's about it.
