Problem with .Xresources

When I log in, I want to get my .Xresources file loaded. That is not
happening. Then I found a file called /etc/X11/Xresources

I added the content of my .Xresources file to it

*customization: -color
*StringConversionWarnings: on

But when I log in, it still does not get loaded. Anyone?

TIA
