KDE 3.5.10 Desktop Background Issue

Hello fellow fedora users,

for some reason I can't set the Desktop background using the "Configure 
Desktop ..." tool from the Desktop Context Menu. It doesn't work with the 
Control Panel as well (Well, basically it's the same dialog).

I can change settings related to the Desktop background in any way and it will 
display the changes in the Preview as expected. It stores them after exiting 
the dialog and after reopening the changes I made will still be there.

Setting a wallpaper with Konqueror works.

I'm using Fedora 8 and KDE 3.5.10-1 on the current distribution kernel 
(2.6.26.3-14) architecture i686
