Good afternoon, Steve.  I don't know what NetworkManager is.  I use 
whatever F9 gives me out of the box; I assume that's not NetworkManager.

My guess, and it's only a guess, is that since I can fix the problem 
by saying "/etc/init.d/sendmail restart" the problem is unlikely to 
be in the networking, no?
