wrong aspect ratio in xine and mplayer

I've seen that from time to time, and the workaround you mentioned
doesn't exist in my mplayer.  But that sort of thing works for *some*
clips, but still has the problem of breaking some other clips that,
otherwise, did work fine.  

The "monitoraspect" option helps a bit, for where you have clips that
are okay, but mplayer hasn't figured out what your monitor is.  But
there are some clips that were just badly created in the first place,
and that's where the problem really is.
