Pulseaudio... again. How to restart it?

Sorry, pulseaudio -D worked.

However, I had sound cause pidgin was playing sounds each time I
received a message, though with an unusual delay (2 - 3 seconds after
the message arrival), so pulseaudio was running. Does -D perform any
kind of forced restart?
