I have a similar issue, my system works booted off the Live CD of a few days
ago, but glxgears run faster with the vesa driver than the default radeondrmfb
it chooses to use. The laptop says it uses a 1250, probably very similar to
yours. If I can find time to try an install to a USB drive I'll try the flgrx
driver, although the fc10 version of that didn't work well.
