It's not, anyway, with a SSH connection.  The whole thing is encrypted.

Telnet isn't, plain authentication with POP3, IMAP, and SMTP, etc.,
aren't.

Don't send private replies to my address, the mailbox is ignored.  I
read messages from the public lists.
