What exactly is 'yum list recent' ??

g's response shows me how to do it within the parameters I was thinking
of -- yum and rpm.

That is even more ingenious -- at least to me -- because I wasn't
thinking of and probably would not have come up with /yum.log -- obvious
though it is on hindsight.
