Aldo.
Eventually had to use dmesg to get logs - message/mail are all zero
length. Only log is anaconda
Nothing in it apart from a failure to load agpgart

Interestingly there is no /etc/inittab !
Am placing a good one and testing...

What related option? I have a boot log (see dmesg stuff above) but with
no obvious errors.
