Evolution still asks for all my mail passwords in KDE. It works fine, however, in gnome.

No, just the PAM integration (i.e. what tries to reuse your login password).
Notice the -pam at the end of my command.

I mean custom to the application/library, not something standard like D-Bus.
AFAIK it's also undocumented.
