Hmm!? "Mpeg Layer 3 Audio" *is* and mp3 file type. The file command
shows this for me:
$ file "my song.mp3"
my song.mp3: MPEG ADTS, layer III, v1, 128 kBits, 44.1 kHz, JntStereo
$ file "my song.wav"
my song.wav: RIFF (little-endian) data, WAVE audio, Microsoft PCM, 16
bit, stereo 44100 Hz
my wav file is about 70MB, while the mp3 is about 6.5MB.

The 0x0055 refers to an mp3 file characteristic.

That's a bummer.
Are you in the mood to compile from source? --->
