Single mouse click interpreted as a double click

Almost two months ago after an update to xorg-x11-drv-vmmouse and I
experienced a problem similar to yours. The fix was to add

  Option "AutoAddDevices" "off"

to ServerLayout section of /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
fixes the problem.
