Can one use a gnome splash screen

Dear all,

I have a friend who uses Fedora but wants to use splash screen.  Previous versions of Fedora had a splash screen.  Is there any way possible to have splash screen.  Here's what he is asking:

Is there any way to use gnome splash screen in fedora 10? how can i install & use a gnome splash screen from www.gnome-look.org (there r many...)?
i just want to know how can i use gnome splash screen in fedora like KDE & how can i install & use a new gnome splash screen?
