You can mount the filesystem and use all the Unix tools you need.
Something like:
mkdir /mnt/raw
mount 192.168.1.30:raw /mnt/raw -t cifs
(a lot of possibly useful extra options in the mount manpage,
such as "-o guest", "-o ro")
