hello frank,

from what i recalled of problems with irq 16, apic slots, you had a conflict
with a shared interrupts, video, nic, and sata. or what ever else you may
have plugged into apic slots. another great design brought about by intel's
marvelous limited thinking.

i tried a google-linux for "disabling+IRQ+16", [with quotes] and this is
what returned;

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=lang_en&as_qdr=all&num=30&site=linux&restrict=linux&output=linux&q=%22disabling%2BIRQ%2B16%22&btnG=Search

a look again thru your logs to see if you have anything wrong mentioned about
what is plugged into your apic slots may help you find problem.

other than this, rest is up to you, unless someone can give you a more
definitive answer.

i wish i could be of more help.

much luck finding your problem.
