You can add your user to the "uucp" group. (That name stands
for "Unix-to-Unix Communication Protocol" and is a remnant of ancient
times. AFAIK, in more recent udev versions, this group is now
called "dialout" instead, a name which has been used for years in Debian
and which is more logical. RHL used to be very conservative with this sort
of things, Fedora is much more amenable to changing these things these
days.)
