Maybe we'd be better off getting a combination of rpm compression with lzma ala OpenSUSE.

I don't know why but I think I dont truly understand the deltarpm process, I enabled it on a Fedora 10 machine at home and the updates-testing repo does not have deltarpms :(, I have to get big downloads and the purpose is defeated.

OpenSUSE has this already and apparently(I don't know what goes on behind the scenes), but the downloads are smaller and one's machines generates the rpms not the OpenSUSE servers/mirrors at that matter.  I see more distros are moving to lzma compression. Slackware has moved from *.tgz to *.txz and the savings of space are big to save a great deal of bandwith.  In the previous thread Mandriva and OpenSUSE already have it.  Why doesn't Fedora move that way also and help its users save bandwidth.  

At school I run rawhide because I have faster connection, I have to stop in the summer running it because I don't have good connection at home.  Even with the delta rpms, rawhide pushes lots of updates that is very inconvenient to run, but with lzma compression it might be a different story?
