When booting in rescue mode before I get to the command prompt I get a
Rescue splash screen with an error message.
"An error occurred trying to mount some or all of your system. Some
of it may be mounted under /mnt/sysimage."

At the command prompt
The "mount" command returns the following:

A bunch of (rw) and one (ro)
the last one says:
"/dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol100 on /mnt/sysimage type ext3
(rw,errors=continue,user_xattr,acl,data=ordered)"
