How to FSCK root booting from CD

What mount command are you using?

In any case, if you want to fsck the filesystem, you don't have to mount
it; you are booting from the CD just because you _don't_ want it mounted
during the fsck.

"fsck /dev/myvolumegroup/mylogicalvolume" is what you need.
