Files corrupt on copy

Have you tried running memtest.  I had a machine that would reboot very 
so often.  Ran memtest and it failed "every great once in a while."  It 
was a bad MB.

Maybe "cmp -l file1 file2" will help determine where the binary file 
copy problem occurs?
