	I'm glad you mentioned that. "exclude" is always the first thing 
I think of, and for me it always fails; I don't know what I do so 
consistently wrong, depsite trying different ways. Is there an 
exposition, less opaque than a man page, and preferably mentioning 
pitfalls, anywhere??
