OK, here we go; the ISO is at

 http://people.freedesktop.org/~david/Fedora-6-LiveCD-alpha-installer-i386-1.iso

It's a bit complicated to test; here's how. Boot the live cd (preferably
run from RAM), open a terminal and

 $ su -
 # setenforce 0
 # /etc/init.d/livecd-install-daemon stop
 # /usr/libexec/livecd-installer

Now disable automounting via the gnome-volume-properties capplet; you
can find this in : "System -> Preferences -> Removable Drives and
Media".

Now open a different terminal (or another tab) and do

 $ livecd-installer-tui

and go from there. Note that you are expected to know what an MBR [1]
and a bootloader is if you decide not to install to a full disk.

The wording in the text-based installer is really bad. But, eh, it's
proof of concept; mostly to demonstrate that copying the ext3 file
system from the live cd onto a hard disk is viable. Disclaimer, if it
breaks your system you get to keep both pieces. This is utterly
alpha-quality code at this point. There is no warranty.

The plan, of course, is to put *some* sort of UI up instead of a
text-based installer. How and when is yet to be decided.

AnywayLet us know on list if you got it to work! Thanks.

(note that I'll be away for the next 2.5 weeks for linux.conf.au and
vacation. I'll have some spotty access to mail next week; none the week
after. So don't expect me to be quick in replying to mails!
