My first (ab)use of the CVS tags

I did something very much like this with leafpad and notecase recently,
except that I appended an "a" to the old tag to create the new one. I
felt that changing anything else in the tag could possibly cause a
collision in the future.

Was it the correct thing to do? I'm not sure; it could come back and
bite someone in the future. Was it the right thing to do? I feel so
since bumping the package release due to a trivial slip-up would be
silly.
