I would suggest a script that checks

a) for this kind of bitrot
b) unmet dependencies in the trees (similar to the stuff in the daily
rawhide-report; makes life also easier when big changes hit rawhide
[stuff like cairo, python, gcc in the past])

It could run each time when new extras-packages are pushed; the output
could be appended to those "Fedora Extras * Package Build Report" mails.
