But Steve, they will not simply do a yum upgrade on their EL5 boxes to
upgrade to EL6...

The open change in glibc will be mentioned in the release notes and
every good admin has test environments to test a new distro before
actually going live and in production.... Same here at my company...

Don't be afraid, I doubt this glibc will make it into EL4 or EL5 updates...
