Please help the EPEL effort a bit even if you don't participate in EPEL

There is just one thing I wanted to know, 'cause the FAQ doesn't say, and 
it really should:

* What is the expected length of the support-cycle for an EPEL release?
   How long should you expect to be security-fixing and handling bugs for
   the package until the EPEL release is considered obsolete?

I expect the answer to be == the support cycle length of RHEL which I 
don't know either, so please elaborate.
