for large format that could work... but small icons.... if you are
relying on more than one letter it gets really busy really fast.  Even
one letter becomes hard to see and just makes the icon look busy if
the letter is relatively small compared to the overall design... at
icon sizes.

color coded bans on the brin? Always with a majority of the Fedora
blue... but with additional color stripes or checks for subcomponents?
