Currently, they are (for | India at least) being processed via the Trac. \-- I was wondering if we could have a minimal checklist items for each new joinee that they must do (and ascertain them), before they can start to work on a Fedora sub-project of their interest. For example, instead of having to repeat to each new joinee to create an IRC nickname, register the nickname, join the Fedora mailing lists, create a blog, add the blog to the planet etc., if we give them a checklist when they create a FAS account, they can change the status of each checklist item to 'completed' when they finish it. Yes, these are mundane tasks, and they ought to be verified, if they can be. It will help us to focus more on sub-project work. When they have completed the required items and checked them, they can then start to work with mentors from a sub-project. Each mentor has their own style of work, which is fine, and it is best left to the mentor on how they want to work, as long as it confines to the realms of the project and goals. I see that FAS uses turbogears and postgresql for the backend. I am not sure about the Infrastructure constraints though. Susmit, Kushal and Rahul work on a check-list that allows them to keep track of where each candidate Ambassador is. cc: in them for a response. -- sankarshan mukhopadhyay Sent from Brisbane, Qld, Australia From jsimon at fedoraproject.org Mon Dec 7 08:53:51 2009 From: jsimon at fedoraproject.org (Joerg Simon) Date: Mon, 7 Dec 2009 09:53:51 +0100 Subject: [Fedora-mentors-list] Joining Fedora Mentors In-Reply-To: References: <35586fc00912062318s6105e5e0kd3add80ceb6e6b26@mail.gmail.com> Message-ID: <200912070953.57562.jsimon@fedoraproject.org> On Monday 07 December 2009 08:41:21 Shakthi Kannan wrote: > I was wondering if we could have a minimal checklist items for each > new joinee that they must do (and ascertain them), before they can > start to work on a Fedora sub-project of their interest. > for Ambassadors we send them this informations: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Ambassadors/MembershipService#Mentor.27s_first_Answer https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Ambassadors/MembershipService#Additional_Steps cu Joerg -- Joerg (kital) Simon jsimon at fedoraproject.org http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/JoergSimon http://kitall.blogspot.com Key Fingerprint: 3691 0989 2DCA 58A2 8D1F 2CAC C823 558E 5B5B 5688 -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... The other aspect that I was thinking over yesterday was the objective of the Fedora Mentors list (this one itself). If I recall correctly, in its earliest form the underlying objective was to provide a means to allow the coach and the candidate have a discussion on specific issues being using this as a declarative platform. The list has been silent for a while. Is there a need to see if the objectives are being met elsewhere and, we can frame new goals for this list ? -- sankarshan mukhopadhyay Sent from Brisbane, Qld, Australia From jsimon at fedoraproject.org Tue Dec 8 07:15:37 2009 From: jsimon at fedoraproject.org (Joerg Simon) Date: Tue, 8 Dec 2009 08:15:37 +0100 Subject: [Fedora-mentors-list] Joining Fedora Mentors In-Reply-To: <35586fc00912072259x27ead5fckf1fd0e3ed6a9751c@mail.gmail.com> References: <200912070953.57562.jsimon@fedoraproject.org> <35586fc00912072259x27ead5fckf1fd0e3ed6a9751c@mail.gmail.com> Message-ID: <200912080815.41924.jsimon@fedoraproject.org> On Tuesday 08 December 2009 07:59:11 sankarshan wrote: > > https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Ambassadors/MembershipService#Additional_S > >teps > Request that the above link also include as reading material the > Appropriate Content for Planet Fedora as being stated at > 28.html> > done ;) - btw. i wonder why only nudity or near-nudity is explicit listed - so violence is covered by "other adult material"? cu Joerg -- Joerg (kital) Simon jsimon at fedoraproject.org http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/JoergSimon http://kitall.blogspot.com Key Fingerprint: 3691 0989 2DCA 58A2 8D1F 2CAC C823 558E 5B5B 5688 -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
