Which calculations?

The calculations for making a size 10 font appear as 10 points is
indeed dependant on that -- and on the XO-1 everything is configured
correctly in that respect.

It is simply that human perception makes size 10 look uncomfortably
big on the XO's small display, plus the fact that you are generally
seated closer to the display (especially if you're a kid).
