Name : dhcp
Product : Fedora 9
Version : 4.0.0
Release : 17.fc9
URL : http://isc.org/products/DHCP/
Summary : DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server and relay agent
Description :
DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) is a protocol which allows
individual devices on an IP network to get their own network
configuration information (IP address, subnetmask, broadcast address,
etc.) from a DHCP server. The overall purpose of DHCP is to make it
easier to administer a large network. The dhcp package includes the
ISC DHCP service and relay agent.

To use DHCP on your network, install a DHCP service (or relay agent),
and on clients run a DHCP client daemon. The dhcp package provides
the ISC DHCP service and relay agent.

Update Information:

This update addresses the following problems on Fedora 9: * dhclient will now
correctly honor the SEARCH variable in an ifcfg script. You can provide an
override for the search line in resolv.conf this way. If this variable does not
exist or is empty, dhclient will use the search list it received in the DHCP
lease. * dhclient will now correctly honor the RES_OPTIONS variable in an
ifcfg script. You can list any settings that are valid for the 'options' line
in your resolv.conf file. dhclient will just carry the setting over when it
rewrites resolv.conf * If there is an active lease and dhclient determines
that during startup, it will not down the interface first. It simply
acknowledges the existence of the already acquired lease and continues. *
SELinux errors should be gone now with the setting of FD_CLOEXEC on the leases
file descriptor in dhclient. Please test this package and report back if it
networking continues to work for you and these errors have been fixed.
