Name : lzip
Product : Fedora 11
Version : 1.7
Release : 2.fc11
URL : http://www.nongnu.org/lzip/lzip.html
Summary : LZMA compressor with integrity checking
Description :
Lzip compresses data using LZMA (Lempel-Ziv-Markov chain-Algorithm). It
supports integrity checking using CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check). To archive
multiple files, tar can be used with lzip. Please note, that the lzip file
format (.lz) is not compatible with the lzma file format (.lzma).

Update Information:

This version does not include lzdiff and lzgrep because of a conflict with xz-
lzma-compat. For future versions, these tools are included in a separate
project: zutils (http://www.nongnu.org/lzip/zutils.html), which may be packaged
in Fedora eventually. Upstream changelog: 2009-06-25 Antonio Diaz Diaz
