3. Ownership of /usr/lib/qt4/plugins and /usr/lib/qt4/plugins/sqldrivers also
looks fishy... shouldn't those be owned by the base qt4 package only? currently
the base and all subpackages own that dir. Since all the sub packages require
the base qt4, the dir would always be there... 
(The core package has nothing owning /usr/lib/qt4/plugins/sqldrivers, which
isn't right either)

All the .pc files look good. Libs look good from here. 

I'm not seeing any blockers aside from the 2 minor issues in comment #116 and
the one mentioned here... 

Laurent, do you see anything further on x86_64?
