Thanks a lot for both patches! I've applied both as is and I'm now chain
building arm-gp2x-glibc, followed by a non bootstrap gcc using your patch and
specfile.

About the testing I have compiled and run some serious c++ programs, working
around the -lgcc_eh bug by just adding it at the end of the link cmd myself.
