I don't care about the precise soname, as long as it isn't something
upstream is likely to use in the future.

Using the lib%{name}-%{version}.so  scheme would seem better to me 
since hopefully upstream won't do that.

In my opinion it is better to anticipate rather than deal with later
complexity.
