Pardon, but I consider this not to be acceptable:

# Avoid lib64 rpaths
%if "%{_libdir}" != "/usr/lib"
sed -i -e 's|"/lib /usr/lib|"/%{_lib} %{_libdir}|' configure
%endif

This is kills configure scripts.
