seemed to miss item 2.

5. MUST:  .desktop files
Having tried things out a bit, I noticed the included .desktop files are missing
any Category tags, so they don't appear in the menus anywhere.  I'd suggest adding
Categories=Qt;Network;InstantMessaging;
