So, upstream has gone down since I grabbed the tarball. I emailed him, and he
said he would put the svn server back up, but he has still not done so (and has
not responded to any of my many additional emails). He did say in his initial
email that he was focusing his efforts on adding zlib support to the next
release of tcl.

I suppose you can either trust me on the code, or not. :)
