Agreed, FWIW we already have a bit too much "stuff" for my personal
taste in some current and some upcoming templates.

One example of the magic doc is jpo's notes at
http://gsd.di.uminho.pt/jpo/perl/specfiles/ which is linked from the
Perl SIG page (but probably rightfully marked as "(old)" based on a
quick look at the contents).
