How's the best way to use a newer/different libltdl?  (Naively?) replace 
arts' libltdl/ with that from /usr/share/libtool/libltdl?

Install kdemultimedia-extras and try using 'juk' to play audio/music 
files.  Or just login/use kde and all system sounds will use arts as well.
