Lennart is usually pretty busy. Try to ping him in the bugzilla ticket
once or twice more. (There's no known fix, only workaround if I
understand correctly, right?)

This seems to be trivial to address. In case you can do it yourself, it
would help if you attached a patch. If you can't, ask someone (I think I
could do that for you).

I think there used to be a procedure that would allow one to file a CVS
admin request to change package's ACL in case maintainer doesn't respond
to bugzilla and mail for some time, but I can't find it anymore. That
would be interesting for you if you are a fedora packager (I am lazy to
check).
