Mea Culpa

Hi,

I wanted to send out a note separate from the technical discussion.  I
didn't fully think through the implications before I built the new
package into rawhide, and broke everyone's builds.  I'm sorry for the
trouble this change has caused for y'all.

For now, let's finish the debate about the change, make a decision, and
get this thing done one way or another.  We'll end with a better,
stronger, faster perl when we're done.
