Hm, "rest of the world"? Have you ever visited comp.os.linux.alpha?
Or maybe you heard about Linux running on Sparc? FYI - 64-bit BLADE
release of Linux on Alpha showed up in 1994. You have some catching
up in front of you. :)
I wonder why "All the world is VAX!" sentence comes so persistently
to mind.
