updates via apt

I did the update first. I only listed gdm as it was the first example 
that came to my head, to 'prove' my system isn't current. This may be a 
stupid question, but I don't need any rhn/up2date setup to do I? I 
completely removed all rhn and up2date pacakges from my system. (Don't 
want to pay but also don't want to freeload)
