Ditto -- works for me too, whether the panel is horizontal (temp goes to
the right of symbol) or vertical (temp goes below).  However I note that
if the panel is vertical, I have to make the panel very narrow before
the temp moves besides the symbol.  If I make it 25 pixels wide rather
than 24, the temp stays to the right of the symbol and is cut off.
