Would busybox be more valuable, statically linked?

Like /sbin/sash, wouldn't /sbin/busybox be more valuable if it were
statically linked?

Of course, I am mostly thinking about init=/sbin/busybox as a kernel option
to aid during recovery in cases where /sbin/sash does not provide enough
functionality... :-)
