Another approach is building an rpmdb for the latest rawhide tree:
rpm --justdb --ignoresize --noscripts --notriggers --nodigest --dbpath
<path/to/new rpmdb> -i *.rpm
Update /etc/rpm/macros.solve to point to the new rpmdb and the package
directory. Now issue
rpm -F --aid *.rpm
--aid will take care of all dependencies. The only thing it fails to do is
replacing redhat-release with rawhide-release. Saves you the time to sort
out which packages you need to upgrade. Very neat.
Bye,
Leonard.
