I'll try that version tomorrow then. I can use the thunderbird 
standalone mailer on my desktop computer successfully (i686 and 815 
chipset based). My last message was on mozilla mailer with the older kernel.
I'll see if the problem is still present with the newer kernel version 
on the athlon. The desktop fails with both kernel versions.
