  I experience the same thing.  Downgrading gdm to the original Severn
version (gdm-2.4.1.3-8) eliminates the problem.  When I upgrade to the
present Rawhide version (gdm-2.4.4.0-2), it comes back.  I just filed it in
Bugzilla (Bug 104367).
