As an interesting aside about Hurricane Floyd . . . indeed, Red Hat did
weather that storm without too much trouble, but the eastern part of the
state (Raleigh is just east of the mid-line) suffered significant flooding
(read that as whole towns wiped out.)  Anyway, at one point in time during
the evening when Floyd was making landfall, there was an emergency service
notice which scrolled across the TVs and was announced on the radio.
Basically all roads east of I-95 (major north-south interstate highway)
had been closed as a result of flooding.  As you can see here, that meant
that about 1/3 of the whole state was "closed."  We are indeed hoping that
nothing similiar comes with Isabel.
